If the main structure is still sound, refurbishment can restore the appearance and correct minor wear without manufacturing a completely new item. The decision starts with an inspection because deep corrosion, badly distorted frames or failed mechanisms can make replacement the more sensible route.

When replacement is the better answer

Refurbishment is not automatically cheaper or safer. If the steel has lost too much section, the frame is badly distorted, the mechanism is obsolete or the fixing arrangement is fundamentally poor, Robo Door should quote replacement instead of putting a new finish over a weak structure.
