CUSTOM SECURITY PRODUCTS
Cape Town buys aluminium. Of the 60 trellis doors on our Cape Town orders over the last two years, 56 were Alu-Deluxe, chosen for the salt air.
Two years of Cape Town orders
In the 24 months to September 2026 we had 77 orders with a Cape Town delivery address. We installed 63, seven were supply-only and two were repairs or service, all made in our Alrode factory.
The 56 Alu-Deluxe doors came in 40 orders, against three Econo and one Deluxe. Of the 97 burglar-bar panels, seven were Alu-Deluxe Fixture and 87 were Econo Bars, mostly on sheltered windows, across 23 orders. We also fitted 11 security gates and four garden gates, from the Atlantic Seaboard and Southern Suburbs to the northern suburbs and the Winelands.
These figures cover Robo Door orders placed in the 24 months to 9 September 2026, matched on the delivery address. Some addresses name more than one area, so the area totals on this site overlap. Do not add them together.
Steel or aluminium near the sea
Aluminium does not rust. That is why the Alu-Deluxe Trellis Door and Alu-Deluxe Fixture, each with a ten-year manufacturing warranty, are our Cape Town default.
Steel should be hot-dip galvanised under the powder coat. Rust cover is five years on a sheltered opening in the suburbs, three when fully exposed, and two to three within 500 metres of the sea. Hinge welds on galvanised gates are not covered for rust and need a check once a year; our coastal guide has the detail.
Tell us where the sea is
If the site is near the sea or a tidal estuary and nobody says so, the warranty falls away. The site visit notes how exposed each opening is, from sea-facing balcony to roofed courtyard door, and the quote records it. Robo Clear polycarbonate bars are for sheltered and interior windows, never a sea-facing veranda.
