Burglar Bar Prices South Africa: What Sets the Quote

Robo Door burglar bars start from R1,000 a window. Beyond that anchor, six things set the quotation: the product line, the window size, the frame you are fixing to, the material, the design and whether Robo Door installs or you do. Every quotation is itemised window by window, so a house can be done in one go or in phases.

The anchor and what it covers

From R1,000 is the entry point for a standard window in Econo Burglar Bars or Econo Fixture, inland, powder coated. It is a real starting price, and the site visit is free.

The six cost drivers

Product line. Econo Fixture and DuPlus Fixture carry a five-year manufacturing warranty. Deluxe Fixture carries ten years plus the five-year Break-In Repair Guarantee. Alu-Deluxe Fixture carries ten years in aluminium. Welded patterns, Cottage Pane, Spanish and custom, are priced on the pattern. Robo Clear polycarbonate bars carry a five-year product warranty.
Window size. Larger openings need more channel, more uprights and more fixings.
Frame and fixing. Steel, aluminium, timber and masonry each take a different fixing method, and the quotation names it.
Material. Steel inland; aluminium or hot-dip galvanised steel at the coast. Aluminium costs more and does not rust.
Design. Plain fixture bars are the quickest to make. Cottage Pane and Spanish patterns take longer. Custom artwork is scoped before manufacture.
Installation or supply-only. Installed includes measuring, fitting and Robo Door's workmanship. Supply-only removes that line for DIY fitting, and Robo Clear is supplied as a kit with one-way screws or rivets, caps, washers and a guide.

Terms that affect the total

Prices include VAT at 15%. Quotation valid seven days. Deposit 70%, balance 30% on installation, or 7% off for paying upfront. Finance over three months interest-free with an admin fee, or up to 24 months, by SMS to 33130.

How to compare two quotations

Same product line, same window dimensions, same finish, same fixing method, same named warranty. A quotation that says "burglar bars" and one that says "Deluxe Fixture, sandblast, primer and powder coat, 10-year manufacturing warranty" are answering different questions.
