Strongroom Doors and Safe Rooms: What to Specify

Start with the room, not the door. A strongroom door only works as part of a secure-room system: wall, lintel, floor anchoring, frame and locking together. Robo Door makes six named products, the DS 1 Recordroom Door and the DS 2 to DS 70 Strongroom Doors, each fitted to the opening with a two-year manufacturing warranty.

Assess the room first

A heavy door hung in a weak opening is not a strongroom. Robo Door's assessment covers the wall construction, the lintel, the floor and the frame anchoring, and identifies any reinforcement or building work before the door is made. Existing rooms are assessed the same way.

The number is a product name, not a grade. The construction, lockset and intended use of each door come from the current technical documentation on the quotation.

Locking

Key, combination, electronic and multi-point arrangements are available depending on the product. The lockset is stated on the quotation, and Robo Door does not make blanket claims about what a lock will resist.

Regulated and insured contents

Firearms, cash, pharmaceuticals, records and servers can each carry their own legal, insurer or professional requirement. Confirm that requirement with the authority, insurer or engineer, give it to Robo Door in writing, and the quotation addresses it line by line. Our terms of sale are plain: products are supplied as security barriers, not as a guarantee against every forced entry.

Installation

Access, lifting and handling, frame anchoring and any building preparation are part of the project scope and stated on the quotation. Larger doors need a handling plan before delivery day.

Finish

Strongroom doors are steel and are offered in finishes from plain powder coat to hot-dip galvanising. Inside a building, powder coat is the usual specification; the finish and colour are confirmed on the quotation.
