When to go electric

When the curtain is large or the shutter runs many times a day, working it by hand stops being practical. The motor, controls, safety devices and manual release are specified together with the curtain.

Safety devices

Depending on how the shutter is used, you may need photocells, safety edges or an emergency stop. We tell you which at the site visit.

In a power cut

Battery backup is an option. Your quotation states the manual release and the warranty on the motor.

Finish

Steel parts can be powder coated, or hot-dip galvanised with powder coat on top. Galvanising or a non-standard colour adds a week to the 15 to 21 working days.

What is a Louvre Security Shutter and how is it different from a Roller Shutter?

A louvre security shutter closes over a window or door with angled slats that let air and light through while it is locked. A roller shutter door rolls up into a drum above the opening and suits shops, garages and warehouses.

What lock types do you offer and which is most secure?

Trellis doors take a slam lock, a deadlock or both, up to three locks per door; one is fitted as standard. Hook locks have an anti-lift pin, and electromagnetic locks are available.

A slam lock locks itself when the door closes; a deadlock needs the key. Two locks are harder to force than one.
