Palisade Fencing Guide: Pales, Posts, Footings and Finish

Palisade fencing is a system, not a row of pales. Robo Door fabricates it to the boundary with pale profile, height, rails, posts, footings and matching gates quoted together, and the finish chosen for the site's corrosion zone. Inland, hot-dip galvanised and powder-coated palisade carries a rust warranty of up to ten years. Custom-quoted after a boundary survey.

Height comes from the site

Boundary purpose, surrounding levels, sightlines and any estate or municipal rule set the height. There is no universal palisade height. The boundary survey settles it before fabrication.

Pales and rails

The pale profile, spacing, rail arrangement and top treatment are stated on the quotation. If a specific security performance is required, ask for evidence for that exact system; Robo Door does not attach blanket anti-climb claims to a category name.

Posts and footings decide the lifespan

Wind exposure, fence height, panel span, ground conditions and gate loads set the post section and the footing. A sloping or stepped boundary is surveyed so the panels step cleanly. A palisade that leans in year three usually had the wrong footing, not the wrong pale.

Hinge welds on gates are the exception on galvanised steel: they are welded after galvanising and protected with cold-galvanise paint, so they need a yearly inspection.

Gates belong in the same quotation

Pedestrian and driveway gates are designed with the fence so the pale pattern, finish and access-control preparation match, and so the gate posts carry the gate load. Driveway gates carry a two-year manufacturing warranty.

When to compare another fence

Clearview mesh where visibility for cameras and patrols matters. Slat or laser-cut fencing where privacy or the street frontage leads. Aluminium fencing on the beachfront. All are quoted from the same boundary survey.

Pale and rail specification, height, posts, footings, gates, finish, installation scope and the rust warranty that follows from the finish and the site.
