Choosing the gap

Slat spacing decides how much you see through the fence, and how much wind and light gets past. We agree the look you want before any panels are made.

Wall extensions

Slat panels can go on top of an existing boundary wall or fence to raise its height without more brickwork. The wall has to carry the extra height and wind, so we look at it on the site visit before we quote.

Steel or aluminium

Both are available. The choice comes down to span, how exposed the site is, weight and how much maintenance you want.

Posts, slopes and gates

Posts, level changes and matching pedestrian or driveway gates are designed together as one system.

What it is for

Finish

Powder coating, sandblasting and primer, electroplating or hot-dip galvanising: the finish sets how long the paint and rust cover lasts where you live. The warranty page has the table.

Questions about Slat Fencing

Can I bring my own design or architect's drawing?

Yes. Send a sketch, photo or architect's drawing and we will tell you whether we can make it. We don't certify structural designs; where an engineer is needed, we build to their drawings.

Should I choose mild steel, galvanised steel or aluminium?

Inland, powder-coated steel is fine. Near the coast or where sprinklers hit the steel, choose hot-dip galvanised steel. Within sight of the sea, choose aluminium: the Alu-Deluxe range does not rust the way steel does.
