What is the Aluminium Balustrade?
It is edge protection for stairs, balconies, decks and pool edges where a lighter material suits the setting. Posts, handrail, infill, run length, corners and fixings are all worked out from your actual building.
Infill options
Slat, rod or a frame made to take glass. Tell us what you have in mind when we measure.
Safety comes first
A balustrade is safety-critical. The fixings and the structure they go into are designed with the rails, not added afterwards.
Aluminium or steel?
Aluminium is lighter and behaves differently to steel when it comes to corrosion. Steel gives you a different stiffness and cost. Compare the Steel Balustrade, the Aluminium Railing and our staircase products.
Finish
Aluminium is powder coated.
Questions about Aluminium Balustrade
Can I bring my own design or architect's drawing?
Yes. Send a sketch, photo or architect's drawing and we will tell you whether we can make it. We don't certify structural designs; where an engineer is needed, we build to their drawings.
Should I choose mild steel, galvanised steel or aluminium?
Inland, powder-coated steel is fine. Near the coast or where sprinklers hit the steel, choose hot-dip galvanised steel. Within sight of the sea, choose aluminium: the Alu-Deluxe range does not rust the way steel does.
